By teaching classes she also works closely with
actors on how to present themselves better and get
the most out of an audition, allowing her to
deliver top performances and choice talent options
for her clients and find the perfect person for
every role. Barbara has a superb working
relationship and reputation with SAG an AFTRA, and
prides herself on staying up to date on the Los
Angeles talent pool (both union and non-union), and
she is currently expanding her knowledge base to
include the emerging talent of Texas.
Working with Barbara is her husband, Ray Bengston,
casting as well as teaching on camera audition and
improv classes. Ray is an actor, producer,
director, editor, teacher and top headshot
photographer (http://www.eyekool.com). He has
worked on stage, film and television, headlined in
Las Vegas, taught at Warner Brothers, Disney,
Dreamquest Images, Listerberger Studios, and
Divisek Casting, He’s been the Screen Actors Guild
photographer for over eighteen years, produced and
edited “The Journal of Edwin Carp” (an animated
short for theatrical release created completely in
Flash), and for the past year produced, directed,
and edited over twenty training films and PSA’s for
the San Antonio Fire Department and the city of San
Antonio, Texas. Ray also keeps Barbara on the
cutting edge of technology (Geek!)
Barbara believes that Casting is a service business and strives to make your casting experience successful, positive, easy and fun while finding the best talent for whatever your project needs.
Casting over 4200 projects, from local to national
to international, and every conceivable category
from Commercials, TV and Film, to Voiceovers,
Industrials, Video Games, Infomercials and more,
Barbara Divisek has developed a worldwide network
of resources, finding solutions for what others
call impossible. She crossed countries and oceans
to find specialties that include Zidaco and
Moroccan bands, Punkers, Belly Dancers and Sumi
Painters. She organized a national twins search for
Wrigley’s Doublemint, and a national search for the
baby in Disney’s “Three Men And A Baby”. And she
cast real people from all walks of life, everything
from athletics to stupid pet tricks.
After successfully operating Divisek Casting, a
business she established with her sister Karen in
[need year], and then later with their brother Jim,
Barbara shifted her focus to become a talent agent
and started a management company called Trilogy
Talent. This dramatically broadened her insight
into marketing actors and strengthened her
negotiating skills – having both “bought“ (as a
casting director) and “sold” (as an agent) talent
services.
But after discovering that she missed the challenge
of being directly involved in the casting process,
Barbara has now returned - with Barbara Divisek
Casting.
Barbara offers expert knowledge, personalized
attention and is a major asset to any production.
She believes that one of the most important jobs of
a casting director is to understand and see the
vision the director, producers and clients have and
bring in the strongest talent with lots of creative
options. Barbara is pleased and proud to work
with clients again and again and year after year.
Barbara has a unique way of making everyone in
casting sessions, from novice actors to seasoned
veterans (and even non-actors) feel comfortable,
handling whatever challenges arise and making the
job go smoother for all involved.
